As part of their culminating IB-PYP Exhibition on the theme “Canvas of Change: Using Art to Amplify Voices,” Grade 5 students from Lahore Grammar School visited Sanjannagar Institute of Philosophy and Arts on May 5, 2025, for an educational experience focused on music as a form of artistic expression.
The program included an activity related to emotional expression through classical ragas, insightful interviews with Beena Raza related to social change through sitar performances and Ms. Aliya (a blind music teacher) about her successful journey as she belongs to her marginalized community. Furthermore, a curated gallery walk introducing traditional Pakistani instruments such as the Sagar Veena, tabla, and harmonium was organized.
Students participated in a guided singing session of “Dosti Aisa Naata” and concluded the visit with a live sitar performance by Beena Raza, where she shared the instrument’s history and tuning techniques.
