This summer, Sanjan Nagar was pleased to host a student from the Ethnomusicology Department at SOAS, University of London, who came specially to take practical guidance on playing the Sagar Veena from Noor Zehra Kazim, the only musician who can play this unique instrument, conducted exclusive lessons, offering rare insights into its history, structure, and playing technique.
In the words of Raza Kazim:
“The objective of the Institute is to discover and establish through knowledge, reason and verification, a framework of theory and practice in an effort to contribute towards a new and superior civilization emerging in our time. The Institute symbolizes my answer to the age-old question of human misery and happiness: taking the next step in human evolution through mental intelligence.”
