Sagar Veena

The Sagar Veena is a unique addition to the world of South Asian classical string instruments and a new invention in the realm of musical instruments. The name itself carries meaning: Sagar is a Sanskrit word for “ocean,” while Veena is a traditional term used across South Asia to describe a family of string instruments. The current form of the Sagar Veena is the result of over five decades of research and experimentation. Conceived and developed by Raza Kazim since 1970, the instrument has evolved through seven prototypes to reach its present design. Throughout this process, Raza has been supported by his daughter, Noor Zehra, who has worked extensively to test and demonstrate the instrument’s musical potential. She remains the sole performer of the Sagar Veena.

Bhulley Audio Systems

Since April 1996 the engineers at Sanjan Nagar have been developing a range of amplifiers and speakers under the name of ‘Bhulley’. Initially the work mostly revolved around altering designs of commercially available Valve based Class A amplifiers and redesigning speaker cabinets using components such as drivers (tweeter, woofers etc.), transformers, etc. as readily available from the market. Now twelve years later, the only component that is not made in the department are the electron valves used in the amplifiers. The main concern behind this work has been that when sound reaches the listener’s ear, it should be a relaxed musical sound, which retains its musical integrity qua the source.

Evolutionary Mentology

Evolutionary Mentology is a philosophical cum scientific inquiry into the origins, evolution, and functioning of both the human mind and the process of Nature as a whole, their future evolutionary direction and the relationship between them. The purpose of this comprehensive inquiry is simply to enable a contemporary individual to reduce the contradictions and conflicts that he/she is facing today and increase his/her pleasures and happiness. How? Through discovering some new tools of understanding and doing, which he/she can use to intelligently restructure and upgrade his/her own mental processes and capabilities—emotional, intellectual, sensitivity and habit processes—and to make a new culture, politics, economics, in short, a new society.
